About:
The Lower Merion School District is taking a strong initiative on the safe and responsible use of the Internet with students, staff, and community members. In today's society, the Internet has become a major player in the lives of our students. As a community of teachers and parents, we are responsible for educating them in the uses of the Internet and helping them make smart choices to avoid the dangers, predators, and bullies that lurk online.
Teachers:
Simply find one activity for each concept to use with your students. Each year, the concepts will adapt to the age appropriateness of the students. These activities can be as s simple as circle discussions, small group lessons or whole class lessons. Feel free to adapt the ideas to your own teaching style. Most lessons include video from the Netsmartz website. It is recommended that you review the video BEFORE you try the lesson. The resources in your grade level are just sample activities you can use for each of the concepts.
